At Isambard Kingdom Brunel Primary School (IKB) we ask that all children adhere to the school uniform policy. We believe the benefits that school uniform provides, include:

  • Creates a sense of identity for the school and the community
  • Gives pupils a sense of belonging and unity within a group
  • Gives pupils a sense of pride and teaches them to dress smartly
  • Creates a non-distracting environment for learning

The IKB school uniform consists of:

  • Navy jumper or cardigan with school logo*
  • Grey skirt, pinafore, trousers, shorts or skort
  • White polo shirt or school shirt/blouse with or with school logo*
  • Grey, black, white or navy-blue socks or tights
  • Sensible black shoes – no trainers, boots or Dolly style slip on shoes
  • In the summer months, a blue gingham dress is optional

The IKB PE uniform consists of:

  • Yellow polo shirt with school logo*
  • Navy shorts
  • Daps, plimsolls or trainers

Additional recommended items include:

  • School logo book bags*

All children will need a bag to bring home reading books, works of art, letters etc. A book bag is ideal for in reception and allows the child to store in in their pupil draw.

  • Summer hat
  • Rain coat

Hair should be tied back if long enough to do so.  Hair ties and accessories should be navy, white or black.

Jewellery (other than plain ear studs), make up, nail varnish and temporary tattoos are not permitted. Ear studs will have to be removed for physical activities.

*All items with a school logo are available from our recommended uniform supplier:

Workwear Online Ltd, Unit A12 Westpark 26, Wellington, Somerset.

You can purchase items direct from their shop Monday to Friday 1pm – 5pm and Saturdays during July and August 10am – 2pm. They also have an IKB online portal with all the uniform available to order for collection or delivery. Non-logo items are also available to purchase if required.

Uniform portal: www.ikbuniform.deco-apparel.com

The School will normally hold some sample sizes for you to try before placing your online order, however these won’t be available until the school is open and Government Guidelines allow clothes shows to reopen changing rooms. To help with this WorkWear Online Ltd will provide sample sizes if requested through their portal. Please see the portal for instructions.

Reduce, Reuse, Recycle

We encourage everyone to reuse and recycle their uniform when their child has out grown it. This can be either donations to the school where we can make use of them as spares in the classrooms, to new school families or via textile recycling available at local recycling facilities.
